BMW Issues Recall On 200,000 Vehicles Due To Fire Risk

BMW is recalling nearly two hundred thousand vehicles because of a potential fire risk.

The issue is with an engine starter relay that can overheat in several 2019 to 2022 model year BMWs, as well as the Toyota Supra, which was built as a joint venture between Toyota and BMW.

Dealers will replace the engine starter, which can corrode.

BMW says there have been several thermal events, as they call them, but no crashes or injuries.

Owners are advised to park the vehicles outside until they can be repaired.
