Missouri Gets In The Spotlight For It’s Efforts To Reduce Distracted Driving

The State of Missouri is put into the spotlight for its efforts to reduce distracted driving on our highways and bi-ways.

CBS News aired a national report on Sunday to spotlight the state’s proactive approach to the widespread problem.

Fiddling with the radio, eating and talking to passengers all take a driver’s attention away from the road. But perhaps most dangerous of all is using a smartphone. Chris Van Cleave shows you how states are cracking down in tonight’s eye on America.”

According to the segment, research shows that drivers who text and drive are 23 more times likely to be in a critical incident.

There are more than 56,000 Missourians and 750 businesses who have pledged to be part of the statewide Buckle Up Phone Down campaign.
