Miller County Prosecutor Matt Howard Dies Unexpectedly
The Miller County Courthouse is mourning the unexpected death on Sunday of Prosecuting Attorney Matt Howard.
The 64-year-old Howard served two different terms as prosecutor…from 2002 through 2014 and then from 2022 until his death.
The position is up for election in the August 4th primary with Robert Seek the only person to file for the office by the end of Tuesday which closed out the candidate filing.
In the meantime, a circuit judge will appoint a replacement for the position to serve out the rest of the year.
A visitation and funeral service for Matt Howard is planned for Saturday at the Bethany Lutheran Church in Eldon.
