The Missouri Attorney General’s Office is hailing a Circuit Court ruling in Cole County to reject a challenge trying to prevent House Judiciary Rule 173-174 from appearing on a statewide ballot.
AG Catherine Hanaway says the court’s judgement was a win for Missouri voters.
The judgement also means that the voters will now ultimately decide the fate on whether to eliminate the state’s income tax by phasing it out and allowing state lawmakers to decide on future sales taxes to make up for any revenue shortfall for the state.
The issue will appear on the August Primary ballot.
