Backup Cameras Proven To Be A Lifesaver According To New Research

Some new research shows that backup cameras in vehicles aren’t just a convenience they are a lifesaver.

Those cameras help drivers see small children…and University of Texas research shows a BIG drop in deaths and serious injuries, since the cameras were required on vehicles.

“We are doing an excellent job of recognizing severe and dangerous issues related to car safety” says author Dr. Jeannete Joly, “It’s impressive and important to see the same reduction in the rate of backover traumas in both data sets.”

Before the cameras were required, the emergency room at UT Health Houston saw about 7 back over trauma cases a year…That’s been reduced to 3.

She says more children could be protected if backup cameras were also installed on older vehicles.
