A Bolivar woman will spend the next two years in a federal prison followed by three years of post-release supervision after being sentenced for her conviction of being a felon illegally in possession of a firearm.
44-year-old Summer Gomes was initially charged in June of last year after being pulled over for a license plate violation, consenting to a search of the vehicle, and being found to be in possession of a .22 caliber semi-automatic firearm, hundreds of rounds of ammunition and marijuana.
Gomes was charged as part of Operation Spring Cleaning…an initiative led by the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Western District of Missouri.
