It’s budget hearing time in Osage Beach with the city looking pretty healthy…at least on paper.
That’s according to Mayor Michael Harmison speaking Monday morning on KRMS Radio and TV.
Harmison says he expects the budget hearings to be pretty smooth and without too many issues.
“It’s where the staff looks, how much money they had last year. What they did with that money, what they would like to do this year. All in the name of making our city, better, and it’ll be questions and answers. And we’ll look at things that we think we should do with that money….things we shouldn’t”
The 2024 operating budget came in with a starting balance of $19.6 million with expected revenue of $38.3 million and expenses of some $45.4 million for an ending balance, in the black, by about $12.5 million.
The budget hearings in Osage Beach started Monday and will wrap up on Thursday afternoon.
