The highway reports three traffic accidents on the roadways and two incidents on the water over the weekend in the lake area.

Unfortunately, one of the incidents on the water was a drowning early Saturday morning when a 52-year-old man from Kansas City fell into the water from a dock and failed to resurface. The other incident Sunday evening sent a Junction City, Kansas, woman to the hospital with serious injuries after she was crushed  between the 40-foot boat she was trying to tie up and a dock.

On the roadways in the lake area, the patrol reported one person was seriously hurt in a golf cart accident in Camden County while two people were seriously hurt in a one-car accident on Route-D in Morgan County. One other accident, on Route-T in Benton County, sent two people to the hospital…one seriously hurt and the other with minor injuries.

The highway (also) reports 19 arrests over the weekend in the lake area…all but one alcohol related.

Six of the arrests happened in Miller County with five people hooked up for alleged driving while intoxicated and one person for alleged boating while intoxicated.

The other 13 arrests were reported in Camden County…seven for alleged DWI and five for alleged BWI. The other arrest, a Camdenton man, was for possession of a controlled substance.
