Lake West Chamber Prepares For Grandparent’s Day Version Of Annual Kids’ Fishing Derby

What’s better than dropping a line with the kids…?…how about planning to do that on Grandparents’ Day?

That’s the day for the Lake West Chamber’s Annual Kids’ Fishing Derby.

“We’d love to see about 100 kids out there. It’s free to fish. All we ask is that you do have to have a parent with you and you do need to have a life jacket and a fishing pole and come on out and we’ll get you signed up,” says Chamber Director Mike Koenigsman, “bait will be provided for those who need it and prizes will be awarded.”

The fishing derby at Captain Ron’s on Sunday, September 7^th, will also feature an appearance by Sunrise Beach Police Chief Scott Craig.
