Despite the new hands-free driving law in effect, Missouri ranks as the 7th most distracted driving state across the country.

That’s according to a study by CCD Law in Spokane Valley, Washington, which says 9-in-10 admit to distracted driving highlighted by reaching for a phone for directions, responding to a call or text, admitting using a device while stuck in slow or stopped traffic and for just wanting to change a song.

The study also identified who gets called out the most for using a phone while driving…they include partners, friends, parents, children and siblings.

The least distracted drivers according to the study are in Michigan, Nevada and California while the most distracted drivers are in Kansas, Louisiana and New Mexico.
