The Department of Transportation is giving motorists in Camden County a heads-up about some significant bridge work which is coming up pretty much right around the corner.

Central District Area Engineer Danny Roeger says work is planned on the Sellers Creek and Murphy’s Creek bridges along south Route-7 towards Richland.

We are going to replace the driving surface only. So the the bridge itself outside of the driving surface is in great condition. The substructure, the footings, the beams called girders, those are in great condition, but we’re going to replace that concrete wearing surface, driving surface.”

Work on the Seller’s Creek bridge will begin first, on June 1st, with the work expected to be done before the end of summer.

Then the Murphy’s Creek bridge work will follow.
