Pulaski County Gives Flock Cameras The Boot

The Pulaski County Sheriff’s Office is giving the use of Flock license plate readers the boot.

In a social media statement posted online, Sheriff Stacy Ball says a lot of thought, discussion and listening to the public went into the office’s decision to not renew its contract with Flock and further to not replace that system with AXON.

Ball also says his oath of office included not only protecting Pulaski County citizens from crime but also to protect and respect constitutional rights and individual liberties.

At no time since Flock has been used in Pulaski County, according to Ball, has there been any mis-use of the technology but what could happen in the future was also a factor in his decision.

In the meantime, Ball says his office will keep finding the right tools and continue its hard work to aggressively go after criminals in the county.
