Taxes On Diapers, Hygiene & Related Products Come To An End Thursday

Taxpayers, businesses and other consumers won’t have to dig as deep into their wallets and pocketbooks when shopping for certain items starting on Thursday.

That’s when a new law begins which exempts the collection of state, local and use taxes on child and adult diapers, qualifying feminine hygiene products and incontinence products.

Trish Vincent, director of the Missouri Department of Revenue, says the new law provides “meaningful relief” when purchasing those items, and also encourages consumers and businesses to be familiar with the exemptions to ensure compliance.

The Department of Revenue’s website has more specifics on which products are covered under the tax exemptions.
