Two Drownings And One Near Drowning Reported Over The Weekend Statewide

The highway patrol reports two drownings and a near drowning statewide from over the weekend.

The near drowning happened in Morgan County when a 22-year-old Columbia was doing some welding on a dock and received an electrical shock falling briefly into the water before being pulled out. CPR was administered and the man was taken to Lake Regional and then flown to University Hospital.

The first drowning was reported Friday night when a 72-year-old man from Fulton attempted to retrieve a vessel from a boat ramp on the Gasconade River.

He went under the water and failed to re-surface.

The other drowning happened Saturday afternoon at Moonshine Beach at Table Rock Lake when a 25-year-old man from Parkville swam from the shoreline before struggling, dropping beneath the water and failing to resurface.

Neither of the drowning victims were wearing safety devices at the time.
