Waynesville Man Killed In Sunday Morning House Fire

A Waynesville man has died after the home he was in caught fire early Sunday morning.

According to the Waynesville Rural Fire District, it happened around 4:40am at the 25000 block of Red Oak Road.

Officials believe the fire originated in a back bedroom where one person was sleeping at the time.

Once crews arrived on scene, one man was outside while the other man was trapped inside, later found dead in that same room by the fire district.

The fire was brought under control by 6:45 a.m.

The Missouri State Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating the cause of the fire, while the Pulaski County Coroner’s Office is leading the death investigation.
