Following a three-week boil order which was finally lifted this past week, officials in Eldon have announced that the city has begun a temporary chlorination process.

The process includes installing chlorine pumps and tanks at all four of the city’s well sites allowing for disinfected water to fully circulate through the towers and the entire system as required by the Department of Natural Resources.

During the process…the city says you might notice a stronger chlorine taste or smell, cloudy or discolored water and minor pressure changes.

Residents can run water for a few minutes if it does appear cloudy.

Those conditions are to be expected and should be temporary.
