One Dead After a Late-Night Drowning on the Big Niangua in Camden County

A 55-year-old man from Imperial is dead after a reported drowning late Friday night at the 10-mile marker of the Big Niangua in Camden County.

 The highway patrol says it happened when the man entered the water by unknown means and did not resurface.

 The man, who did not have a safety device on, was pronounced dead on the scene.

 It’s the third drowning of the year for the highway patrol’s Troop-F.
