The power brokers at college football still trying to decide how big the playoff expansion could be in the years to come.
16 teams, maybe even 24 teams.
But it won’t be happening for the upcoming college football season.
In fact, the schedule is out for this year’s College Football Playoff.
The first round, December 18th, that’s a Friday.
And then three games on December the 19th.
All of those games played on campus.
ESPN will have a couple of the games.
Turner Sports will have the late games on December the 19th.
The quarterfinals, one game on December the 30th…..no playoff games this year on New Year’s Eve, which falls on a Thursday, New Year’s Day, a Friday, three games kicking off at noon, 3:00 and 7:00.
There’s a chance the Rose Bowl will be a prime time kickoff.
That’s been a game that always kicks off in the mid to late afternoon in Southern California.
Maybe not this year.
College Football Playoffs semifinals, January 14th and 15th.
And finally, if you can believe it, the championship game won’t be until January the 25th.
Way too late, but that’s where it will land in Vegas.
