Skelton Thanks Supporters – Hints The Fight Isn’t Over

Down but not out…the words of Ike Skelton after finishing behind Rudy Veit and winner Jake Vogel on the Republican ticket for the District-6 Senate seat in Tuesday’s Primary election.

Skelton, who actually led for most of the night before he was passed by both Veit and Vogel in the late going, posted a statement online saying he was appreciative for the turnout.

“I believe that, you know, we worked really hard. I thank everybody for all the support they gave. Was fantastic. Met some great people along the way. We put a pretty good dent in things. Thank you Camden County, Miller County and all the other counties that voted for Ike Skelton. I truly appreciate your support.”

While not coming out to directly say it, Skelton’s tone was hinting that a future run for office is very much a possibility.
