Child Dies Following Multi-Vehicle Accident In Hickory County

A 5-year-old boy from Preston is dead after a three-vehicle accident in Hickory County.

The highway patrol says it happened around 3:45 Friday afternoon on U-S-65 near Preston when a vehicle driven by a 29-year-old woman from Preston was trying to turn off 65.

She was hit from behind by a 16-year-old girl from Cross Timbers and pushed into the path of a third vehicle.

The only injury was to the 5-year-old who was taken to Lake Regional and pronounced a few hours later.
