MODOT Prepares For Thursday’s Rundown Of Winter Operations

It’s time for the annual winter operations drill which means you’ll likely see an increased presence of MoDOT vehicles on the roadways to allow snowplow operators a chance to drive their anticipated winter routes and make sure the equipment is in good working order ahead of that first snowfall.

The drills will begin around 8:00 Thursday morning and should be done by 3:00.

Last year, MoDOT spent more than $64 million on winter operations which included 160,000 tons of salt, 2.1 million gallons of salt brine and 229,000 gallons of beet juice.
