A man convicted of killing a Missouri State Highway Patrol trooper in 2005 is dead after being executed by lethal injection Tuesday night at the Eastern Reception, Diagnostic and Correctional Center in Bonne Terre.
Lance Shockley was found guilty of first-degree murder in 2009 of going to Sergeant Carl DeWayne Graham Junior’s house and waiting for the trooper to get home before shooting him from behind and then in the face and shoulder.
Shockley’s conviction was upheld in several courts and Governor Mike Kehoe earlier this week denied clemency.
It’s the first execution of 2025 and the 102nd execution in Missouri.
