UM School Of Medicine Teaming Up With The State To Raise Awareness Of Low Immunizations In Children

The University of Missouri School of Medicine is partnering up with the state to address childhood immunizations.

That’s according to professor of research, Jane McElroy-P-H-D, who’s spearheading the effort to focus on completion rates of vaccines recommended by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

A recent report from the Department of Health and Senior Services found declining completion rates of required vaccines for Missouri children entering kindergarten…the CDC also finding a similar decrease nationwide.

A $2-million grant from Missouri-D-H-S-S will be used by M-U’s Department of Family and Community Medicine to train providers and assist efforts to increase vaccine rates among younger patients.
