Walnut Shade Man Drowns After Trying To Retrieve Dog In Taney County

A Walnut Shade man is dead after drowning when he entered Bull Creek west of Walnut Shade in Taney County trying to retrieve his dog.

The highway patrol says it happened just after 12-noon on Thursday.

76-year-old Paul Moriuchi was not wearing a safety device and was pronounced dead at the scene.

This is the 10^th fatality on water, statewide, so far this year.
