Several charges are pending following the arrest of a homeless Camdenton man who led authorities on a pursuit which started in Linn Creek and came to an end in the Macks Creek area.
The pursuit, with his dog in the car, reportedly reached speeds of up to 90 miles per hour while heading west out of Camdenton and with turns onto Buffalo Linn Creek Road, State Highway-W and Heise Road. The pursuit came to an end after the suspect, Robert Francis Douglas, struck a parked vehicle and a basketball hoop before ramming a gate and damaging a hayfield.
Douglas was eventually taken into custody on foot near a pond and taken to the Camden County Jail. He’s being formally charged with felony aggravated fleeing, possession of a controlled substance, stealing a motor vehicle and property damage
The dog was taken from the scene for safe-keeping.
