If you plan on doing any back-to-school shopping this weekend, you should walk away with a little more cash than usual.
The state’s annual Back-to-School Sales Tax Holiday starts on Friday and will run through midnight on Sunday.
During the holiday, state and local taxes will not be collected on certain qualifying items including clothing without a taxable value of more than $100, school supplies not exceeding $50 per purchase that are used in a standard classroom and personal computers and peripheral devices that don’t cost more than $1,500.
Those purchasing any of the qualifying items will receive a tax waiver.
