Those with business to take care of in the Camden County Assessor’s Office will need to get used to a new location.
While most of the old courthouse…now called the administration building…is back to normal with various offices back in their regular spots, the assessor’s office is staying put in the old M-U extension building.
Presiding Commissioner Ike Skelton says, with the office staying in what had been its temporary location, there was some concern on how business would be affected.
“According to the assessor, a lot of things can be done electronically now. They don’t need to maybe go back and forth and so much running around. We’ll see how that goes. But they’ve chose to stay over there.”
The new location on Roofener Street will also give the assessor’s office and staff more room to operate.
