The case of a 19-year-old charged in Camden County with two counts each of first-degree murder and armed criminal action will proceed to trial.
Alexander Cantrell-King, now 20, is accused of shooting 56-year-old Eric Cantrell and 54-year-old Tammy Larrabee during a confrontation in late February.
Cantrell died at the scene while Larrabee died five days later at University Hospital.
The sheriff’s office alleges, during the 9-1-1 call, a voice could be heard telling Cantrell-King to put the gun down.
Cantrell-King claims that he walked into a room at the location in Edwards after hearing a gunshot and then wrestling the rifle away from Larrabee who was injured in the process.
Represented by the public defender’s office, Cantrell-King formally waived arraignment last week in circuit court sending the case to trial…the dates have not been announced.
In the meantime, Cantrell-King remains in custody without bond.
