First Reported Boat Accident of the Year at Lake of the Ozarks Leads to Serious Injuries

The first reported boating accident of the year at Lake of the Ozarks sends one person to the emergency room.

The water patrol division of the highway patrol says it happened around 2:15 Sunday afternoon at the 63-mile mark of the main channel in Camden County when a bass boat operated by 58-year-old Roger Crowder, of Jefferson City, ran over the top of another bass boat being operated by 43-year-old Megan Viles, of Stover.

The only person injured was the husband of Viles, 48-year-old David Viles, also from Stover. He was life flighted with serious injuries to University Hospital.
