Flags At Half Staff For Peace Officers Memorial Day Across Missouri

If you’re wondering why flags are flying at half-staff today, it’s to honor those fallen men and women who put on a law enforcement uniform.

Today, May 15th, is Peace Officers Memorial Day.

Governor Mike Parson ordered that United States and Missouri flags at all government buildings in the state to be lowered from sunrise to sunset.

All this week ending on the 18th is National Police Week with today first proclaimed by President John F. Kennedy as National Peace Officers Memorial Day.
