UPDATED: Highway Patrol Investigating Fatal Crash in Camden County

UPDATED STORY

One person is dead and four others injured in a two-vehicle accident Sunday morning on highway-54 near old highway-54 in Camden County.

The highway patrol says it happened when the westbound vehicle driven by a 60-year-old woman from Bel Aire, Kansas, started to skid crossing over the center before striking an eastbound vehicle driven by a 67-year-old man from West Point, Nebraska.

The Bel Aire woman was pronounced dead at the scene while her passenger, the driver of the other vehicle and two of his passengers all suffered minor injuries and was taken to Lake Regional.

No details are available but the highway patrol does say that they are investigating a fatal traffic accident in Camden County.

A social media post indicated that the patrol was investigating the multiple vehicle crash on westbound-54 and old-54.

The post further said that the roadway was blocked and motorists needed to use an alternate route.
