It was a busy Sunday for the Gravois Fire District with a house fire and a couple brush fires.

Deputy Chief John Scheper says the first call, shortly before 9:30am, was received to a house in the 100 block of Kejo point. Mutual aid from the Sunrise Beach and Versailles Rural Districts allowed the blaze to be knocked down quickly with no injuries reported.

Then, during the afternoon, Gravois firefighters were toned out within minutes to two different brush fires…the first one in the 14-thousand block of Anchorage Road covering about five acres and the second one in the 10-thousand block of McCasland Road covering about four acres. No structures were damaged and no injuries were reported from the brush fire calls.
