A 21-year-old man from Jefferson City, who had been wanted on a warrant for skipping court on an unrelated charge in Cole County, now faces felony charges after being arrested in Miller County.

Zane Faught is charged with felony possession of a controlled substance and delivery or possession of a controlled substance at a county jail.

It’s alleged that Faught was a passenger in a vehicle pulled over Monday evening on Highway-54 at Route-FF.

The unidentified driver and another passenger were found to be in possession of controlled substances…they were both arrested along with Faught who was taken into custody on the Cole County warrant.

Faught was also found to be in possession of a brown bag in the vehicle which he insisted on it being brought to the jail with him. Once there, a search of the bag by jail staff revealed a small vial with suspected methamphetamine in it.

Faught was put on a 24-hour hold before being formally charged.

His bond was set at $50,000 plus the $2,000 bond out of Cole County.
