Laker Racer Jim Doris Funeral Held Last Friday

A funeral was held on Friday for a Lake Area resident who was well known to the boating community.

Jimmie Darrell Doris died on December 9^th in Kissimmee Florida at the age of 78.

An online obituary posted by his family says his claim to fame is his legacy in the pontoon industry which began in 1995, with what’s known as the “Power-Toon” design that changed the industry by combining the comfort of a pontoon vessel with speed and performance.

Dozens turned out for his Friday funeral at the First Baptist Church in Lebanon.
