With National Safe Boating Week now just a week-and-a-half away, the Lake of the Ozarks Water Safety Council is doing its thing to help contribute to making the boating experience, at least, a little bit safer.
Captain Doug Beck says one way the council is doing that is by making life jacket loaner stations available around the lake.
“If you need a lifejacket, you go to the station….and you take it and you use it. And if you need to keep it, you keep it….otherwise return it back for someone else to use it.”
The Water Safety Council will be hosting a dedication ceremony to celebrate the first life jacket loaner station to be available at Public Beach-2 in Osage Beach.
The dedication ceremony will begin at 3:00 this Saturday afternoon.
Other life jacket loaner stations will also be available at Public Beach-1, Ha Ha Tonka, Captain Ron’s and Frankie and Louies.
