It’s that time of the year, again, when the Missouri Department of Transportation is putting out the call for motorists to be on pothole patrol.
Central District Area Engineer Danny Roeger says weather conditions continue to be ripe for all kinds of pavement problems to pop up.
“And you’ve got any crevice, any crack in the pavement where water can infiltrate that and freeze. You know, over the weekend, it all falls out and here we go. It’s going to freeze again. And that freeze all cycle. That expansion and contract cycle is what causes these pavement pop ups, these blow ups.”
The current forecast of rain and maybe some flurry action will pretty much keep MoDOT away from doing any considerable work this week in the lake area.
In the meantime, motorists coming across any pavement problems are being encouraged to get in touch with MoDOT by calling 888-ASK-MODOT.
