Those who normally use Route-C in the Eldon area will have to find an alternate route for the next day or so as MoDOT takes care of some unfinished business for the city.
“Last fall we discovered a pipe had collapsed under our resurfacing project….it’s actually the responsibility of the city to get that pipe replace….so they are in that, they are re-resurfacing that, we’re actually pouring some concrete and it’s got some cure time. So we hope, as long as everything goes smoothly and we get some good breaks like we’re expecting, that we can get that back open to traffic soon.”
Modot Central District Area Engineer Danny Roeger also says the roadway should be re-opened, barring any unexpected delays, by sometime late Tuesday afternoon.
Otherwise, the resurfacing project along Highway-5 continues with crews in the area of Route-MM south of Versailles heading toward the area just north of the Niangua Bridge near Greenview.
