Weather permitting, preliminary work on the highway-5 resurfacing project continues this week and could mean delays for motorists.
“We still have lane drops out there this week for the guardrail subcontractor, who’s going to be upgrading all the guardrails in preparation for that overlay treatment” says MoDOT Central District Area Engineer Danny Roeger, “So expect lane closures out there on Highway 5….they are working from Tipton south, so they should be somewhere around Versailles or just South of Versailles at this time.”
He tells KRMS news the overall project along highway-5 will, eventually, stretch down to near the Niangua Bridge in the Greenview area.
The project will also include the resurfacing of Route-52 from just west of Versailles to Cole Camp.
The work is expected to be done by November 1st.
