Sedalia Man Drowns in Truman Lake
A Sedalia man is dead after drowning at the Shawnee Bend Swim Beach in Truman Lake.
The highway patrol says it happened shortly after 8:15 Saturday morning (July 18, 2026) when the 36-year-old went under the water and did not resurface.
The man’s body was recovered a short time later and he was pronounced dead on the scene.
He was not wearing a safety device at the time.
