It’s not just here according to national data, but a Lake Area school transportation professional says there’s a major upswing locally in drivers violating school bus passing laws.

Camdenton School Transportation Director Tony Hatfield says it happens nearly every day…“How can you not see a school bus, why would you want to go around the school bus….it’s gonna cost you money if you get caught.”

Hatfield said on Morning Magazine drivers do face serious consequences in the form of costly fines.

He says drivers regularly radio reports of such incidents to him, and more often than not the cameras on-board school buses capture identifying vehicle information allowing law enforcement to track them down.
