School of the Osage Announces Distance Learning Again for Friday (May 12) Due to Targeted Online Threat

The distance learning and no extended learning is continued for Friday, May 12.

Communication from School of the Osage (Weds, 05/10/2023…9:16pm):

Dear Osage Families,

For the second time today, we have been made aware of a threat to our schools. This one is different from the one we received earlier today because it references our district specifically and contains a photo of a firearm. No classes will take place in buildings tomorrow; we will be utilizing alternate methods of instruction (AMI). Extended learning will not be in session. School buildings will be closed.

We continue to prioritize the safety of our students and staff as we work with law enforcement and will keep you informed.

Below is the script from the robo-call that went out and has additional information on instruction:

Call to Families:

Due to a social media threat of violence toward Osage students and staff for tomorrow, School of the Osage will be using distance learning protocols tomorrow, Thursday, May 11th. Students can access all instructions on Canvas by 10:00 am. And pre-K-5 students will receive assignments from their teachers via Remind.  All buildings will be closed and there will be no Extended Learning. Once again, due to a social media threat of violence toward Osage students and staff for tomorrow, all School of the Osage buildings are closed tomorrow and distance learning instruction is taking place on Canvas and Remind.
