Burn Barrel Gets Away, Two Shop Buildings and a House Damaged in Kaiser

Open burning in a barrel that got away is being called the cause of one shop building being destroyed plus a second shop building and a nearby home being damaged in Kaiser.

Osage Beach Chief Paul Berardi says the call was received Saturday afternoon to the area of North Star Circle.

Upon arrival, one of the shop buildings was already burned to the ground which had spread to the second shop building. There was also small natural cover fire as a result.

Firefighters on the scene from Osage Beach, Lake Ozark and Sunrise Beach were able to quickly bring the situation under control but not before the siding on the nearby house suffered significant damage. There was no extension of fire into the house and no injuries were reported.
