Camden County Murder Suspect Chrisma Ellis Expected In Court Next Week

A Camden County murder suspect is scheduled to be back in a courtroom next week. 39-year-old Chrisma Ellis is charged with first-degree murder, armed criminal action and tampering with a motor vehicle in connection to the death of 62-year-old Thomas Gifford in early February.

After the murder, it’s alleged that Ellis fled to the Kansas City area where she admitted to a friend that she had stabbed Gifford several times, believed he was dead and was waiting to be arrested.

Ellis was picked up in mid-March and taken to the Camden County Jail where she remains without bond.

A proposed order for a mental exam was also filed in late May.

The hearing for Ellis next Monday afternoon is identified as a case review.
