The state of Missouri is investing in the city of Iberia in Miller County.

According to the DNR, the city has been awarded a $50,000 grant to help evaluate the city’s wastewater system.

The city will be using the grant to identify improvement opportunities, take care of any permit requirements and reduce infiltration of storm water into sewer pipes.

Dru Buntin, the Director of the Missouri Department of Natural resources, says grants like these can quote “help identify the changes needed to maintain and improve wastewater systems, which in turn will help protect public and environmental health and support the local economy.”

The project will be funded completely or partly with money received from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.

A facility plan should be complete by July 2023.
