The Missouri Attorney General’s Office has released its 2023 SAFE Kit Inventory Report dealing with the numbers of untested sexual assault kits.
In Camden County…the sheriff’s office submitted 26 kits which have all been tested.
All four of the kits from the Camdenton Police Department have also been tested, while there are three of the six kits from the Osage Beach Police Department that have not yet been tested.
In Miller County…all eight of the reported kits from the sheriff’s office, all five of the kits from the Lake Ozark Police Department and both of the kits from the Eldon Police Department have been tested.
One kit from the Lake Regional Health System has not yet been tested.
And in Morgan County…three of the six kits from the sheriff’s office and both of the kits from the Stover Police Department have been tested.
The SAFE Kits initiative, statewide since 2019, has resulted in a 93% reduction in the volume of reported and untested kits.
