Lake Regional Urges Residents To Stay Up To Date On Cancer Screenings

As the new year rolls around, health providers around the lake area are encouraging you to make resolutions to take better care of yourselves.

One of the main goals, according to TJ Sweet from Lake Regional’s Cancer Center, is to stay up-to-date on the different kinds of screenings and to encourage others to do the same…“The most powerful awareness we see is people sharing their story….about the screening they got, about the care they received. They’re encouraging others to get care faster.”

Sweet also says, especially when it comes to being diagnosed with cancer, it is a scary thing but you don’t have to go through it alone…“We walk our patients through that….not only do we embrace them, but the community does embrace each other.”

And, of course, it’s also recommended if you have any concerns to get in touch with your health care provider for more information or to schedule one of those screenings.
