Landlords who don’t follow the rules and take care of their property will face citations. And the fines could start adding up.

Code Administrator Joe Berkich states that landlords are ultimately responsible for the state of the properties they own.

He says that they made a choice as to their tenants, and that they and the tenants will first receive a notice if the condition of the property is not acceptable.

Then the citations will start.

Landlords who don’t answer compliance letters or appear in court with a citation could face even higher costs.

For those who own several properties, the cost of those fines can add up.
