The Laurie BOA had a meeting and several issues were on the table. The board along with Mayor Herb Keck gave an update on the proposed city use tax saying the board approved an ordinance at the May meeting to put the use tax on the ballot in the Tuesday, Aug. 7 elections.
The board approved signing a contract with Lexsar Solutions Inc., to provide wireless internet services and to lease space on the city water tower. The tower would be utilized for services so as to not build another. Finally the board also approved the purchase of a computer and SCADA system program for water and sewer which cost of approximately $5,000.
