MDC Working On Updates To Plan That Allows Access To Lakes And Rivers

Access to The Lake and all other Missouri lakes and rivers is the focus of an update to a plan being crafted by the state’s Department of Conservation.

In partnership with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS), the M.D.C. is seeking public comment on a draft Environmental Assessment regarding the public lake and stream access program in Missouri.

Program Supervisor Laura Ruman says “Over time, new and improved boat accesses are necessary to help meet increasing demand generated by increased boat ownership and leisure time.”

The draft plan for Public Access Sites in Missouri can be viewed online on the M.D.C. dot Gove site and comments should be submitted by December. 31st to Laura Ruman via email at Laura.Ruman@MDC.Gov
