A Montreal, Missouri, man faces several felony charges after allegedly claiming to supply construction materials for the building of a house and bilking almost $200-thousand from the unnamed general contractor trying to build that house.

Camden County Courthouse records indicate that Jacob Byler took several payments over the first four months of 2022 for the materials but never made the purchases from at least four different businesses and, instead, passed off to the contractor quotes and not the actual receipts for the purchases which did not happen.

Byler is formally charged with one felony count of stealing in the amount of $25-thousand or more and four felony counts of forgery.
